FF Gavin T. Wendricks Obituary
The Gavin Wendricks Memorial Fund has been set up in memory of Gavin.
Donations may be made through GoFundMe or by mail/in person at any Bank of Sun Prairie location.
Donations will go towards organization(s) and lifestyle activities important to Gavin.
For Gavin's entire life, his father Paul has been a member of the Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department. He spent his whole childhood watching his dad leave for the fire station each time his pager went off and listening to his stories when he returned. He looked up to his father and wanted to be just like him. Shortly after Gavin was old enough to join the department, he did. Each call or training they attended together, you could see the pure joy and excitement on Gavin's face to be able to work alongside his dad. The pride that Paul had for his son was immeasurable as he shared every bit of firefighting knowledge he could with him. It was a true blessing they were able to spend that time together. Sadly, Gavin was taken far too soon, and our entire department is mourning his loss alongside the Wendricks family.
