The Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department will hold the 78th Annual Firemen's Festival at Firemen's Park in Cottage Grove on June 18th-21st. This year's Schedule of Events once again kicks off with a Non-Alcohol Teen night, including all-you-can carnival rides for just $16.00, Teener Baseball and a Guitar Hero tournament.
Friday night will feature live entertainment in two tents, American Legion Baseball and Bingo. On Saturday, don't miss the Parade and Fire Department Water Fights. Be sure to stop by the Cottage Grove Historical Society display in Cottage Grove's first fire station. The display will also be open on Sunday. There will be plenty baseball to watch as well, including Home Talent, American Legion and Teener games. Saturday night will bring more live entertainment, with Rachelle & The Red Hot Rattlers playing in the big beer tent, and Cherokee playing in Old Timer's Tent.
On Sunday morning, bring the whole family for a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Cottage Grove Lion's Club, then stick around for the Giant Horse Pull. Other events scheduled for Sunday include Fire Safety House Tours, a Med-Flight demonstration, and a Kids Pedal Tractor Pull. The Festival will wrap up on Sunday night with another armband night for carnival rides, live music, Fireworks, and a raffle drawing.
Food and refreshments will be available on grounds throughout the weekend. Advance ride tickets may be purchased at substantial savings at the following local businesses: Piggly Wiggly, Wisconsin Community Bank, Bank of Sun Prairie, Monona State Bank, Landmark Convenience Store.
This year we have a new Festival parking lot sponsored by Friends of the Firemen's Park. Park for just $2.00, proceeds going to the future park expansion project.
A free Saferider Service is available to take you home within an approximately 12 mile radius if you find you've had one too many.
Proceeds from past festivals have allowed us to purchase fire fighting apparatus and equipment, as well as to help numerous Cottage Grove youth groups and provide area students with continuing education awards.
