The Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department will hold the 79th Annual Firemen's Festival at Firemen's Park in Cottage Grove on Father's Day Weekend (June 17-20, 2010). The weekend starts early for the kids with a Non-Alcohol Teen Night on Thursday, featuring all-you-can ride carnival rides for just $16.00 ($14.00 advance armband tickets are available now). Saturday watch the parade on Cottage Grove Road, then head down to Firemen's Park for some more carnival rides (armbands good from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m.), American Legion and Home Talent baseball, and Fire Department water fights. New this year is "CG Brewfest" in the big beer tent from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. See www.cgbrewfest.com for more info. Sunday come down for a pancake breakfast, served by the Cottage Grove Lions Club, and stay for the Giant Horse Pull. Later in the day there will be a Kid's pedal tractor pull, and another chance for all-you-can ride armbands from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Refreshements are available throughout the weekend. Also be sure to check out Cottage Grove Historical Society's display in Cottage Grove's first fire station.
